CLINICAL STUDIES

We believe there are 3 causes of hair loss; Genetic, Medication and Medical Conditions.  Genetic Hair loss is a result of a compound called DHT and Prostaglandin D2, which our products are specifically formulated to remove and break down within the epidermal layer of the skin and follicle.  The additional 2 causes of hair loss are Medical Conditions (anything that changes the normal well being of a person’s physiology eg. Thyroid abnormalities, auto immune disease, pregnancies, stress, poor diets leading to acidosis, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, blunt trauma to a hair follicle ect.) and Medications. Raphael Tome and a team of international formulators spent the past 5 years unravelling these causes and isolated 13 key components that are linked to hair loss and poor nourishment of the hair, and targeted each of these individually with a compound of signature ingredients to combat these 13 components individually.  Our Advanced Capillary Densifying Collection of products contain the precise measure of ingredients and compounds to assist in removing DHT and Prostaglandin D2, whilst replenishing the scalp and hair with essential ingredients for thicker, healthier hair after every use.

PROCAPIL™

PROCAPIL™ is a potent Anti-Hair Loss complex that targets three phenomena responsible for hair loss 5a-reductase, which converts testosterone to DHT, Inadequate blood perfusion and Failing anchorage of the hair in the dermal papilla.

PROCAPIL™ consists of 3 active substances which act together namely peptide Biotinyl-GHK, a Matrikine, which acts on the anchoring of the hair thanks to adhesion proteins, apigenin, a citrus extract flavonoid with a vasodilatory effect and oleanolic acid, extracted from olive tree leaves, which inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone via 5a-reductase.

The 4-months clinical trial covering the telogen phase compared PROCAPIL™ and placebo and confirmed the marked anti-hair loss activity of the complex:

Out of 18 volunteers in the PROCAPIL™ group, 67% showed significant improvement in the mean anagen/telogen ratio (p<0.05), in the same range that is reported for Finasteride® after a treatment of 5 months by oral administration. Certain subjects showed after using PROCAPILTM for 4 months, an improvement greater than 30 or even 46%.

The morphological and immunohistological analyses of the hair samples taken at the start and end of the study showed that the bulb of telogen hair, root sheath and laminin 5 and collagen IV densities were markedly improved in the PROCAPIL™ group, in contrast to what was observed in the placebo group.

One of our Key Signature Compound Ingredients

ANAGAIN™

AnaGain increases FGF7 and Noggin Genes and are Key Targets to Treat Hair Loss. Our hair is permanently in a cyclic process which comprises a growth phase (anagen), a transitional phase (catagen) and a resting period (telogen). Healthy hair is characterized by a constant proportion of 85 to 90% anagen hair. Hair loss happens when the proportion of telogen hair increases, leading to a reduced amount of anagen hair.   AnaGain™, a new anti-hair loss ingredient based on pea sprouts (INCI name: Pisum Sativum Sprout Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Aqua) was found in a clinical study with 20 volunteers to clearly increase the number of hairs in the anagen phase and to reduce the amount of telogen hair. After three months’ treatment with a gel containing 4% AnaGain™, the anagen/telogen ratio improved from 4 to 7.2.

The result is stronger, healthier, denser looking hair. In order to study how Ana-Gain™ works, the gene expression in plucked hair follicles from 10 volunteers was analyzed before and after 14 days’ treatment with a hair balm fluid containing 2% AnaGain™. The expression of selected marker genes important in hair physiology was analyzed usingnthe RT-qPCR method on mRNA extracted from pooled hair bulbs. Also dermal papilla cell marker genes were analyzed because plucked hair follicles contained the dermal papilla tissue at the bottom of the hair bulb and because the cyclic process of hair growth is regulated by signals of dermal papilla cells.

In most of the volunteers, AnaGain™ was found to increase several times the expression of fibroblast growth factor-7 (FGF7), a dermal papilla signal instructing hair germ cells to proliferate and initiate a new hair cycle. And noggin, a gene that shortens the telogen phase and initiates a new hair growth phase was even more stimulated. To summarize: Ana-Gain™ prevents and stops the hair loss process and stimulates hair growth by modulating the expression of the genes of FGF7 and noggin.

NIGELLA SATIVA

The pharmacological properties of N.sativa  and its ingredients have been investigated by in vitro  and in vivo  studies conducted on humans. These studies showed that N. sativa  and its ingredients have a wide range of pharmacological effects; immune-stimulatory, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antioxidant, anticancer effects, antiviral, antifungal, wound healing, psoriasis, skin pigmentation and acne vulgaris.  Newtrino utilises the use of N.sativa for its affects on bacteria, inflammation, anti fungal, psoriasis, antimicrobial and Prostaglandin D2 inhibitor.

GREEN TEA EXTRACT

Green Tea Extract have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antineoplastic properties. Recent studies suggest that tea polyphenols (active ingredient) may be used for reducing sebum production in the skin and for treatment of acne vulgaris.
